Make the Transition to Online Giving |
|
The rise of online payments and corresponding decline in check writing is forcing churches and nonprofits to rethink their
approach to donations.
With e.service® by Web, contributors link to a set of secure donation pages created by Vanco in the style of your
website. Contributors can make both one-time and recurring donations to whatever funds you list and by whatever payment methods you
choose to offer. Donors have the option to login to a secure password-protected donation page where they can make, change or view
donations.
Vanco, a PCI Level 1 Compliant Service Provider, provides all web hosting, maintenance, security and transaction processing for your
online giving page. |

Benefits of Online Giving with Vanco Services |
Back to Top |
| |
Broadens appeal |
| Online giving taps into the powerful trend away from checks towards online payments and donations. Check use is down more
than 50% since 2000 (U.S. Federal Reserve) while the number of households making online payments is up more than 400% since 2002
(Harris Organization). |
| |
Gives greater control to contributors |
| Donors have the option to manage their own donation activity 24/7 in a secure online environment. |
| |
Reduces administrative activity |
| Donors can go online to make their own changes and look up their own donation histories. As a result, your office staff
only needs to assist on an as-needed basis. |
| |
Eliminates paper forms |
| A donor can start a recurring donation plan, change a donation plan or change banking information without using a paper
authorization form. |
| |
Moves funds quickly and securely |
| With Vanco Services, donations by direct debit are always processed and transferred electronically on the very same day.
Donations by debit or credit card are processed and transferred electronically within 2 - 4 days. Donations are never commingled with Vanco
operating funds and never sent by check for the purpose of creating a "float" beneficial to Vanco. |
| |
Shifts the risk |
| Online giving shifts the risk of storing and handling large amounts of sensitive data from your back office to the secure
systems of Vanco Services-an important consideration for organizations serious about improving internal procedures for handling checks,
cash and sensitive account information. |
| |
Improves communication |
| Churches can choose to receive immediate notification of donor-initiated changes. |
| |
Shows dollar amounts |
| Easy-to-use reports show donor names and dollar amounts—not banking information. |
| |
Integrates with software |
| Vanco reports are easily imported into the software used by most churches and nonprofit organizations saving time and
eliminating double entry. |
|
Also works for online registrations! |
Vanco's online donation solution also works for accepting online
registrations for camps, workshops and other special events.

Go green! |
"Eliminating your paper trail by banking and paying bills online does more than save trees.
It also helps reduce fuel consumption by the trucks and planes that transport paper checks.
If every U.S. home viewed and paid its bills online, the switch would cut solid waste by 1.6
billion tons a year and curb greenhouse-gas emissions by 2.1 million tons a year..."

How Vanco's Online Donation Solution Works |
Back to Top |
| |
|
|
| 1. |
Click on link to donation page |
| |
Contributors click on a link that takes them from your website to a secure donation page. |
| |
| 2. |
Make donation |
| |
One-time donations (no profile required) — A contributor simply enters his or her name, address,
payment method, payment amount and other information into required fields and then submits a donation.
Recurring donations (profile required) — On the first visit to your donation page, a contributor creates a
password-protected profile by entering his or her name, address, payment method and other required information before setting up a
recurring donation. Then, on future visits, the contributor simply logs in to make, change or view donations without the need to
re-enter personal profile information. |
| |
| 3. |
Receive confirmation |
| |
Donors see a printer-friendly confirmation page and may also request an automatic email confirmation. |
| |
| 4. |
Process donation |
| |
Donations are processed according to normal timelines and funds are electronically transferred to the organization's
account without any unnecessary delay. |
| |
| 5. |
View/Import Deposit Report |
| |
Organizations can view, download or import deposit reports confirming all donation activity. For security purposes,
donor account information is masked (only the last four digits appear). Organizations may also request an automatic email notification for
every donation or change. Reports are easily imported into many widely-used software programs. |
