Multiple options for processing payment cards |
Whether for the convenience or the rewards, families increasingly use payment cards to responsibly manage a wide range of
obligations. Vanco's e.service® Merchant Services offers churches, schools
and nonprofits a versatile set of options for accepting credit and debit cards under a variety of circumstances.
Setting up automatic donations
Vanco's most popular option is a Card Not Present solution used primarily for scheduled (recurring) donations or payments. This
web-based solution works with any Internet-connected computer. A staff member, working from an authorization form, enters payment
information only once to set up a series of recurring transactions. No special software or card reading equipment is required.
Swiping credit and debit cards
Vanco offers an optional card reader that is ideal for ticket sales, auctions, festivals and anywhere one-time payments or donations are accepted. It is small in size and very easy to use—simply plug it into the USB port on any Internet-connected computer and you're ready to process one-time credit and debit card transactions. The card reader features innovative technology that enables end-to-end encryption for maximum security of cardholder data.

Express Checkout for Auctions
Expedite the checkout process at your next auction with the express checkout feature available with a card reader from Vanco. Before the event begins, auction-goers can pre-register their payment information for any potential purchases by swiping a credit or debit card. Winning bids are then processed with ease and bidders can leave without waiting in long checkout lines at the end of the event.

Keying in real-time transactions
Virtual Terminal is an option that allows staff to process real-time credit and debit card transactions by keying in payment
information from any Internet-connected computer.

Benefits of accepting credit and debit cards |
Back to Top |
| |
| Vanco's credit and debit card solution offers significant benefits to both your organization and your donors. |
| |
Delivers dependable donations |
| By using credit and debit cards to automate religious offerings, tuition and fund raising, seasonal slumps are avoided, donations are received exactly as scheduled and overall cash flow becomes more predictable. |
| |
Reduces administrative work |
| Consider the total time spent handling and processing checks from weekly, bi-weekly and monthly donors. It can add up to dozens or even hundreds of hours a year. Now imagine automating that process with a debit card, credit card or perhaps our Direct Debit solution. Transitioning even a handful of these donors to an automated solution will make a big impact on the hours dedicated to administrative activities. |
| |
Allows you to accept debit cards only |
| Some organizations prefer to limit card transactions to debit cards only. Not a problem. Vanco clients can request a debit card filter option that allows debit cards but screens out credit card use. |
| |
Enhances donor loyalty |
| Families appreciate the ability to use credit and debit cards when making donations, especially if they earn rewards and benefits from their credit card company. |
| |
Assures secure data storage |
| Vanco Services is a PCI (Payment Card Industry) Level 1 Compliant Service Provider which means your transactions are handled in accordance with the most rigorous security standards. |
| |
Increases one-time gifts |
| Vanco clients tell us that donors are more generous at auctions and make larger one-time annual gifts when they have a credit or debit card option available to them. |

How Vanco's solution works for recurring donations |
Back to Top |
| |
| 1. |
Authorize |
| |
Donors authorize your organization to process donations from a credit or debit card. This is typically done in writing using an authorization form. Another option is to utilize Vanco's Website Payment solution that allows donors to authorize a donation without using a paper form. |
| |
|
|
| 2. |
Enter the transaction |
| |
After receiving a signed authorization form from your donor, the payment information needs to be entered into our system for processing. The easiest and most common way to enter payment information is through Vanco's online Service Center, a secure website designed for our clients to manage their electronic transactions. Once a payment is entered, the rest is automated. A friendly Vanco implementation specialist will help you get going and provide ongoing assistance. |
| |
| 3. |
Process & settle |
| |
On the scheduled payment date, Vanco processes all authorized card transactions and directs the funds into your designated account. |
| |
| 4. |
Confirm |
| |
Vanco generates a deposit report confirming the total amount deposited into your account. Your donors in turn see the transactions on account statements from their credit card company or financial institution. |
